Everyone came on the 21st, bright and early at Bishan ITE,
all clad in two different shades of polos and tees, blue and yellow.
We were there to do out 1st Trail Run. The route was at Bishan Park.
As our beloved motivators were waiting patiently for the programme to start
the exco's were busy preparing what they need to do.
At 9 am, Wei Xiong introduced the excos who were going to be acting the roles to the
motivators. Izzdin was the LV, Moon and Lydia were Student Leaders, Ak was the CM, Shuan was the Block IC and Tony was the Zone I/C while the rest were HQ.
The Motivators were acting as the students.
The main thing here is that the exco acting as the different roles were suppose to elaborate and explain to the motivators how the entire process wld be like.

The Foyer was the GP and the "students" played some games like broken television and they also played a mass game called fire, hunter and earthquake. Fun Fun FUN! You could hear them frantically trying to find a partner when Lydia shouted " EARTHQUAKE!!!" but soon we had to head off to the route.

    "FIRE!"

And So We walked to Bishan park together from Bishan ITE.

and we practiced the process of holding hands and saying the pledge together before heading back.

In the afternoon, back at the office, We had a make up training for those who just joined into Connect SG.

WELCOME TO THE CONNECT SG FAMILY!!!

    =)

And after the entire trial run ended, the Exco on that day had a debreif, it was a good experience for all of us and I hope for the motivators too. We went through certain issues for that day , how we could improve on it and how we could do certain things differently.

The trial run was quite an experience, the excos and our motivators got a chance to put ourselves in different peoples' shoes. Like for E.g our motivators got a change to feel like how the students would feel on the actual day and some of the excos had the chance to go through and understand how our motivators would feel handling all those students as well.

Well, that's pretty much wraps out that saturday.

The Next Training's on the 28th!

Hope to see you all there!

    Take Care now.

    Hey all!

As you all know, today we had the first ever motivator's training at Nanyang Girls High
The Exco reported bright and early at 7 15am . Hui zhen went through the programme
and by 8 30 am the motivators had already arrived.

    lol.

After they had scanned in , attendance was taken and settled down, Kenneth gave an introduction presentation on what Connect Sg is about and also on Heartware Network.

Now, At least, most of them have an idea of what's going on and why we are doing this mega event.

At 10am, the Exco all dressed in striking red, lead them outside the LT1 and we played some ice breakers, they played wacko, pirate game, honey do you love me? and many more. Obviously, there was, of course, many forfeits. hahaha. ranging from banana, chicken dances to " honey, may i have one of your shoes please?" and to hawaiian dancing as well. After their break, we all took a big family photo and headed back in.

The motivators didnt have it that easy, hahaha. they came back and we played a game called" Can you find yout manuals?" They were only given 5 mins(!)to find the stack of manuals for their own blocks before settling down again for their first part of training by Jin Yao.

Soon after, they had flag making activity cum competition where they were given the opportunity to express their creativity. That was quite awesome. The flags were unique and pretty outstanding!

As the clock stroke 1 30pm, and our stomachs started to grumble, all of us headed off to lunch. Most of us went out and ate near the area before heading back at 2 45. This was quite an eye-opener, this was the time where the excos and the motivators got to interact with each other more and got to know one another better. It's a pleasure meeting all of you!

The motivators had their second part of training, mostly about the pre, during and post event of the actual day. This was done by Cheryl who elaborated on all the programmes that were going to be held on that day.

This is not the end of course,
Stay tuned for the next part of the 1st ever training for motivators!

    To be Continued....!

    Hi all,

Here is the very first video update.
Introducing the people behind Connect Singapore 2008:

Proudly brought to you by the M&D Department (:

The Youth Exco had the usual saturday meeting.
Wei Xiong chaired the first half of it .
While, Mr.Raymond came afterwards and gave us pointers
and advised us to see that maybe what was important last week
might not be for this week.

He also mentioned that on this project, we should all be
    happily stressed.
    interesting...lol!
and that if we reached the limit
we should distribute the workload a bit
    and work as one
    and help each other.

Everyone busy at work.. after lunch. LOL.

And on that day, the programme dept actually had training for the excos. Cheryl went through all the different games and also taught us how to give a proper and engaging presentation. we tried one of two of the games after that.
haha. like.. "Who am I?" that was quite interesting actually.

It's not all work and no play here at Connect sg. hahaha.

"If it's not from the heart,
    it's not worth doing."
